It's because we're kids, isn't it? Adults don't listen to kids because they think they can't learn anything from anyone younger than them. I'm lucky, my parents treat me like a human being. But it sounds to me like a lot of parents don't. They tell you what to do and you have to listen, but if you have a problem or you try to tell them something they say "Don't talk back".
